As someone that works in the healthcare field, you understand the importance of exercise, but it can be difficult to fit it into your schedule. Don’t let lack of time stop you from working out, there are some innovative ways you can sneak physical activity into your day.
Try Stretching in The Morning
Getting out of bed in the morning can feel like a chore, so you that extra time to do some stretching and meditation. After exiting the bed, stand upright and face forward. Then, start stretching the arms and legs. Try bending forward and sideways to stretch the back muscles. You can also jog in place for a bit and do some sit-ups and pushups. This light activity will help you wake up and get ready to start your day.
Try Walking to More Destinations
If you tend to drive everywhere, then taking the scenic route sometimes is a good idea. Walking to your destination instead of driving is a great form of exercise. Put on some sneakers and head outdoors, it does wonders for your body. You also get to take in the sights and sounds you often ignore while being shielded in your vehicle.
Work Out at Your Desk
Sitting at a desk for hours is no excuse to avoid exercising. You can turn your desk into a mini-gym by buying some hand weights and an exercise ball. When you don’t have much to do, lift the weights or sit on the exercise ball instead of the chair to get some light cardio exercise.
Propose an Active Hour Instead of Happy Hour
Heading to a bar after work seems to be a favorite pastime for many, but what of everybody did some physical activity instead? Try organizing an active hour where co-workers gather at a local park or rec center after work. Everyone can play some games like basketball or frisbee instead of ingesting alcohol and extra calories.
